Where can I find authentic Native American music?
I go on youtube trying to find some good, authentic tribal Native American music and all I can find for the most part is New Age gobbly gook. Are there any websites or youtube channels that provide good sources of Native American music?
Thanks, I’ve checked those groups out and they are really good. I’m familiar with Northern Cree, Bill Miller, John Two Hawks, Danielle Begay, Red Bull Singers, etc. but thanks for exposing me to other good Native american musicians.
Oops, how can I forget about Walela?

Dvorak's 9th Symphony and it's influence taken from Native American and African American folk music?
Ok, so I was reading about Dvorak’s 9th Symphony and how he felt the music of America originates from the Native American and African American music. Proof in these quotes which would much better explain it than I can:
"I am convinced that the future music of this country must be founded on what are called Neeegrooo (Yahoo does not approve of Dvorak’s quote!) melodies. These can be the foundation of a serious and original school of composition, to be developed in the United States. These beautiful and varied themes are the product of the soil. They are the folk songs of America and your composers must turn to them."
"I have not actually used any of the [Native American] melodies. I have simply written original themes embodying the peculiarities of the Indian music, and, using these themes as subjects, have developed them with all the resources of modern rhythms, counterpoint, and orchestral colour."
This in and of itself is very neat and interesting to someone who is just now fully discovering and reading about Dvorak. My question is, do you know or more importantly can you name me some Native American/African American melodies that Dvorak was referring to? Also can you point out specific parts of Dvorak’s 9th Symphony in which the influence of these melodies and folk music was expressed? Also I am looking for anyone who can expound on the history behind Dvorak, the New World and these Native American melodies.

Poll: Have you ever been to a Pow-Wow or Native American themed event/fair/celebration in NJ?
If you have not been to an event like this in NJ please describe why. If you simply don’t live in NJ but have been to a Pow-Wow, you can describe your experience at one as well. All answers will be included in a Research Paper on Native American music.
One of the points of interest of this paper is that there is a rich Native American culture in NJ but some people aren’t aware of it since NJ is such a diverse area. For example, many areas of New Jersey is well known to share the same cultural diversity as New York City with inhabitants of Italian, Jewish, Irish heritage as a few examples. However, in the more northern, southern and western NJ regions the culture is very different: they have large Native American communities that hold Pow-Wows and other cultural events, yet some people in other parts of NJ are completely unaware of this.
These events are very popular in Midwestern American culture, like county fairs, yet again they seem to be lost in NJ with the overwhelming amount of other cultural events that feature the main heritages of people in the state. There are even many Native American events in the Jersey Shore that people are not aware of, like in Sandy Hook.
However, before I reach this conclusion, I need to poll peop
